Mail

I love getting mail. This has caused several addictions to things like eBay and really anything you can buy on the internet that gets shipped to your house. So the first thing I got in the mail this time was very necessary, new Mother ease one size diapers. The old ones had served my family well, they lasted through 2 and a half kids being washed every other day for 3 and a half years. But they were getting holes, falling apart and most importantly, when my new son peed it went right through the diaper and woolies and right on to me. No bueno. So my DH finally let me buy these:
Look at how clean and pretty they are. (They are the unbleached, they are supposed to be that color) They are so thick and wonderful I like to just hold them and smell... absolutely nothing. This time they are only going to be washed in rockin green so they should never have an odor. And that makes me really happy. :)

My next mail call was a bit more selfish, well a lot more selfish, by like a ton. It was this:

A huge order from knit picks, though only half of what was in my wish list. I got the seasons fall/winter shawl kit, two skeins of beautiful sock yarn and three skeins of baby alpaca and silk, very very soft. I hope to make socks out of the sock yarn, they first grown up socks I've made. I got the baby alpaca and silk to try to create a shawl I've been envisioning, it will be lovely if I could just get it out of my head into an appropriate swatch. I got the shawl kit, because I thought it would be easier to make a shawl if I had made one before, also I would see how other people write out there directions. Also I was faced with an 18 hour round trip car ride. Which was my idea, I'm no martyr, but I had to ride shotgun, because with the enormous infant seat for our youngest son, the seat cannot go any farther back to accommodate my very tall husband. So I ordered this as soon as possible and it got to my house just in time... to hurt my hand winding the yarn into balls making all trip knitting very painful. Now I need to buy a ball winder ( I already have a swift)
I have gotten this far:

Isn't it beautimous? It makes me happy. I now have hundreds of ideas for shawls, most of which are impossible to do with knitting, but I'll figure it out somehow.
I just need to find a cheaper way to get my mail fix. ;)
